PINJARRA: Payton L. Inkletter, in a world first, successfully hypnotises a bamboo culm

In other news…

01st-02nd January 2009:

Thursday: Happy New Year fellow Earthlings!

And what a hot one here in Perth again today, a mere high thirties Celsius. I surfaced after a much punctuated-with-painful joints fitful sleep of 18 hours, feeling hardly any better for it, and none of it induced by the good oil, for last night was alcohol free; at least for me, I can’t speak for Missus Inkletter, who always seems to have some cooking story to account for the drop in the brandy and sherry bottles’ levels in the pantry, but I don’t know…

I got a tad of back garden work done as well as some Payton the koala bear photography out front in the yellow love bug of Hee Peggy’s, left here for the Christmas-New Year holiday period. Then the highlight of this New Year’s Day was the Babies Ink&Peggletter joining us for din dins, with Pa pree Inkletter as well, and then an episode of Summer Heights High, a game of Carcassonne, and another episode of said comedy by the highly talented Chris Lilley. I also admire his courage to be politically incorrect in some very highly charged areas.

They left towards midnight, returning Pa pree for us, and we caught a repeat episode of Letterman, the one with Emma Thompson and the lady bitten by the rabid fox. This guest reminded me of Jenna Elfman somewhat.

I finished the caption for my picture for The Mighty Midland Medley posting featuring Duncan Moon’s wonderful sculpture ‘Arcanum’, and uploaded it, after going for a late walk, aided by white comforters to dull my headache pain, on this warm humid night. I tackled a big kitchen clean up, first instalment, then in the early morning light took to the two large yucca plants by our lounge window with our nail cutters, and clipped off maybe a hundred thorns, something I have to do (or should do) at least once a year.

Before more watering and micro-fertilizing in the back garden I finished the kitchen clean up started earlier. I watched the depressing news at midday, featuring the Gaza conflict, all the while being fed a tasty brunch by Missus Inkletter. Another hot day.

Friday: I surfaced before My Beloved aired, and Janny had picked up Pa pree after she had entertained Mormon elders for a couple of hours this afternoon, and after we ate the two little people kept watching TV while I kept doing the summer maintenance jobs in the back garden and watered the front bits and pieces. We watched a repeat on Aunty of the quirky BritishMan Stroke Woman’, then I returned Pa pree to his place then hit the sack myself, barely able to keep my eyes open, but had to resort also to white comforters for headache pain. Thus no walk was had, more’s the pity, because I’m losing a lot of strength in my legs.
